The fact is if you want to be good at something, you need to practice... alot. The Japanese realized this and so the great swordsman would practice with a bokken training sword.

This simple tool made from the Japanese Green Oak tree allowed the samurai to practice without the risk of causing serious injury to himself or others. The beauty of the bokken training sword was that it replicated the size, weight and feel of a steel sword.

Although real wooden bokken swords are used to today, they are now getting quite costly plus are prone to rotting, splintering or cracking. Thankfully Cold Steel came up with a synthetic substitute which is made from a heavy grade of polypropylene. Impervious to the elements, this synthetic bokken training sword has the same length, weight and feel as a traditional wooden bokken sword but a fraction of the cost.
